Prostate brachytherapy is a high technology procedure requiring a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Our group involves a radiation oncologist, urologists, anesthetists, a physicist and nursing staff who have a special interest in providing high quality prostate brachytherapy.

Our group was the first to perform permanent prostate brachytherapy in New Zealand in October 1999. Training was undertaken in centres of excellence overseas. All of the team have been involved in treatment of prostate cancer for more than a decade.

We are proud of our standards and achievements. Our data is regularly presented at national and international meetings for peer review and scrutiny.

The Prostate Implants New Zealand team are based at Southern Cross Healthcare's Brightside Hospital, Auckland - the foremost urological hospital in New Zealand. A further advantage is that Prostate Implants NZ Ltd is an Affiliated Provider for Southern Cross Ultracare which simplifies the financial arrangements for patients.
